Transportation to Beer-Sheva

From the airport

  • By train: Take the train to Tel Aviv Hahagana station and connect to Beer Sheva. Get off at Beer-Sheva North/University. Upon exiting the station, turn right onto the “Mexico Bridge” which leads to the Marcus Family Campus. For the train schedule, visit Israel Railways website.
  • By car (via Road 6, a toll route): Take the exit to Jerusalem (Route #1). At “Ben-Shemen” interchange, Route #1 and Route #6 merge. Take route #6 going south. When route #6 ends, it connects to route #40. Take route #40 all the way to Beer-Sheva (Note that at Goral Junction, route #40 turns to route # 406 for those continuing straight to Beer Sheva). The entrance to the city is a very large four-way junction. Continue straight, and at the 5th traffic light (they are numbered), turn left. You have reached the University Gate. Once you pass through the gate/security check, turn right into the large parking lot (see map for directions inside the campus).
  • By car (no toll route): Take the exit to Jerusalem (Route #1). At “Lod” interchange, exit to route #40 going to Beer-Sheva. Follow route #40 all the way to Beer-Sheva (Note that at Goral Junction, route #40 turns to route # 406 for those continuing straight to Beer Sheva). The entrance to the city is a very large four-way junction. Continue straight, and at the 5th traffic light (they are numbered), turn left. You have reached the University Gate. Once you pass through the gate/security check, turn right into the large parking lot (see map for directions inside the campus).

From Tel-Aviv

  • By train: The train departs from any of Tel Aviv’s train stations. The one way trip lasts about 55 minutes. You get off at Beer-Sheva North/University station (the final stop, Beer Sheva Central, comes a few minutes after that so if you missed the stop you can always take a taxi). Upon exiting the station, turn right onto the “Mexico Bridge” which leads to the Marcus Family Campus.
  • By car (no toll route): Head south on the Ayalon Highway (Route #20), stay in the left lane. When you see a sign for “Holon/Bat Yam” continue straight. Merge onto Highway #4 to Ashdod. Almost immediately after the Ashdod exit is the exit for Beer Sheva. You will connect to route #41. Follow the signs to Beer-Sheva until you get to a T-junction (Gedera) where you will turn right onto route #40. Take route #40 all the way to Beer-Sheva. The entrance to the city is a very large four-way junction. (Note that at Goral Junction, route #40 turns to route # 406 for those continuing straight to Beer Sheva). Continue straight and at the 5th traffic light (they are numbered) turn left. You have reached University Gate. Once you pass through the gate/security check, turn right into the large parking lot (see map for directions inside the campus). The journey should take about 1 hour 30 minutes, depending on the traffic.
  • By car (via Road 6, a toll route): On the Ayalon Highway (Route #20), take the exit to Jerusalem (Route #1). After 20 kilometers (12 ½ miles), at “Ben-Shemen” interchange, Route #1 and Route #6 merge. When route #6 ends, it connects to route #40. Take route #40 all the way to Beer-Sheva. (Note that at Goral Junction, route #40 turns to route # 406 for those continuing straight to Beer Sheva). The entrance to the city is a very large four-way junction. Continue straight, and at the 5th traffic light (they are numbered), turn left. You have reached the University Gate.   • By bus: From Tel-Aviv central bus station, take Metropoline line #370 to Beer-Sheva. Get off at Reger Road and Ben-Gurion Boulevard intersection. From Jerusalem

  • By car (via Road 6, a toll route): Take Route #1 to “Ben-Shemen” interchange, where Route #1 and Route #6 merge. When route #6 ends, it connects to route #40.   • By car (no toll route): Take Route #1 until Latrun interchange, exit in the direction of Beer-Sheva route #3. Keep on until Masmia junction, take route #40 which goes all the way to Beer-Sheva.   • By bus: From Jerusalem central bus station, take Egged line #470 or #446 to Beer-Sheva. Line 470 is direct and takes about an hour and a half. Bus 446 has some stops along the way and takes a detour through Qiryat Gat and so typically takes 20 minutes longer. From Haifa

The most recommended way of getting to Beer-Sheva from Haifa is to take the train. The train has 3 stops in Haifa and goes to Tel Aviv quite frequently. The train gets to the Tel Aviv central train station. About half of the trains (approximately one per hour) continue directly to Beer Sheva.
