The twenty-fourth annual conference of the Israel Association for Theoretical Linguistics was held under somewhat unusual circumstances. It was supposed to be held in June at the Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in Beer Sheva, but due to a faculty strike the school year was extended till August. This meant the conference had to be held later, and Beer Sheva was unable to sponsor it. The Hebrew University of Jerusalem offered to host it instead, and a very successful conference was held on October 26-27, 2008.
