The Israel Association for Theoretical Linguistics (IATL) was founded in 1985 to encourage research in theoretical linguistics in Israel. IATL members work in a variety of theoretical frameworks on all branches of linguistics (phonetics, phonology, morphology, syntax, semantics, pragmatics, psycholinguistics, neurolinguistics, computational linguistics, sociolinguistics, language acquisition, etc.).
Last year’s conference, IATL 35, took place at the Ra’anana campus of the Open University of Israel, October 23-24, 2019. The next conference, IATL 36, was planned to take place in October 2020 but due to the COVID-19 pandemic has been postponed; details about the new date will be published when the situation stabilizes.
Since IATL 17 (2001), we have published the proceedings of our conferences on-line.
